BREAKING NEWS – Chicago, Illinois – The Chicago City Council approved a resolution calling for a permanent cease-fire in Gaza as crime runs rampant throughout the city, including a shooting that left a teenager dead near a high school earlier in the day.

The measure was passed by a 24-23 vote after Mayor Brandon Johnson broke the tie.

“Why won’t you call a cease-fire in Chicago between the gangs?” a reporter asked Johnson.

“It’s because the situation in the Gaza is between Jews and Muslims,” he answered. “Because they are two different ethnicities, they need to refrain from violence and discuss the issues. Whereas the gangs out here are predominately Black and Hispanic. And since for the most part, they aren’t fighting each other but instead are killing members of their own race, I view it as an inhouse issue, and I let them resolve it themselves, according to their own rules.”
