I was waiting on a bus in downtown Chicago, while standing next to a woman and her son who were there for the first time. After I struck up a conversation with her, I told her all about the rich history of my hometown. She told me that even though she was enjoying her stay, she would never live there because of the “wind guts”. I laughed when she said that and corrected her by explaining that what she meant to say was “wind gusts”. She then corrected me saying she meant what she said, and then pointed in the air at what appeared to be some intestines, an appendix, and a couple of kidneys, blow right over our heads and down the street.
