I took a nap in a boat I had rented when I was in the Bahamas, trying to temporarily escape the city life. I slept longer than I planned and drifted far from the shore. The late afternoon sky and the water were both clear, so I put on my scuba gear and jumped in.
As I descended, I couldn’t believe what my eyes beheld. It was a city laid out in perfect concentric circles. In the center stood a temple of ivory, silver and gold, surrounded by statues made of jade. I knew then that I had discovered the ruins of Atlantis, the mythical continent that supposedly disappeared 3200 years ago.
I noticed a small building with a red, green and orange horizontal line going around the top of it so I swam toward it. Above the lines were the letters VII – XI. After I entered the building, it dawned on me that they weren’t letters, but Roman Numerals and I was in a 3200 year old 7-Eleven.
Incidentally, even back then, the merchandise I saw appeared to be way overpriced. What the…
