Well, Thanksgiving is over and I have done some of my best freeloading. I went to the homes of three friends and loaded it up bigtime. I acquired enough food to feed myself for almost a week. For those of you that want to learn how to sponge off of friends and family during Thanksgiving, here are some tips.
- During the month of November, always spend quality time with the people that serves the biggest banquets. This dramatically increases the chances of you getting an invitation for Thanksgiving. It also helps to give compliments all month long, no matter how bogus they are.
- Always have emergency Tupperware in your car, because you might be driving, and get a last minute invitation. People like me always keep food storage containers in our vehicles, to insure that we get our fair share of someone else’s buffet. So be prepared!
- Call people on Thanksgiving Day, and tell them you ran out of gas right near their home. No doubt they will invite you over. And make sure you have a full tank of gas, so you can repeat this process several times all over town.
- And finally, always praise the chef. If you tell someone how good the food tastes, their ego will practically “demand” that you come over every Thanksgiving.
In the next few weeks, I will be giving tips on how to get invited over for a Christmas dinner, and also how to guilt people into giving you their gifts. Happy Holidays!
