U.S. & World History – A little known fact about a very popular Christmas film, is nothing like the original concept. The first version was about an inmate in prison, that had no chance of parole. And over the years, he loves being incarcerated so much, that he no longer has the desire to ever live outside of the prison walls. After conducting a test group and receiving negative reviews, RKO Radio Pictures rewrote the script and drastically changed the storyline. The 1946 picture late became a classic and RKO slightly altered the title of the movie, but it was originally called, “It’s a Wonderful Life Sentence”.
