U.S. & World History – A very popular food today, almost didn’t happen. For years, they eyes of hens were fried and served as a delicacy. Unfortunately, it took so many to make a meal, that the concept was no longer financially feasible, with the biggest problem being they only used the eyes of chickens that flirted with roosters. Eventually, they started cooking a larger part of the chicken which became very popular with a similar name, but initially, the flirtatious fried eyes were called “chicken winks”.
