U.S. & World History – John Wilkes Booth will always be synonymous with the assassination of President Lincoln in 1865. Even though Booth was from the south and hated northerners and the Union, the reason why he killed the President in Ford Theater had nothing to do with politics. Newly discovered documents reveal that witnesses stated that Booth was extremely angry with Lincoln because he refused to turn off his cell phone during the show, and that the President repeatedly denied Booth’s request to share his popcorn.
