U.S. & World History – The computer mouse was invented in 1963 by Doug Englebert as part of the IBM 610 project. When he was trying to perfect the accommodating arrow, he would often use a lot of profanity showing his frustration when things didn’t work according to plan. Even though the spelling was later changed, back then he used profanity so often, that his workers referred to him as well as his new invention as “The Curser”.
