BREAKING NEWS – San Francicso – Pedro Figueroa Zarceno is suing San Francisco, alleging that the city violated its sanctuary city ordinance by reporting him to the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement after reporting his car stolen in 2015. The 32-year-old, who is from El Salvador and lives in the Mission District, was in federal immigration custody for two months. The San Francisco Chronicle reported that it is prohibited in the city to use local resources to help federal law enforcement. Zarceno explained his position by saying, “This is a clear violation of my rights. I commit crimes here because I felt local law enforcement would honor their pledge to protect and hide me from the feds. Currently I am so outraged, that the next time I get deported, I will seriously consider not ever coming back!”
