BREAKING NEWS – Washington, D.C. – America a “nation of immigrants”? Not anymore. The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service has eliminated the phrase from its mission statement, according to an internal memo. The document, obtained by the Washington Post, also says that those seeking immigration benefits will no longer be called “customers.”
The new mission statement reads:
“U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services administers the nation’s lawful immigration system, safeguarding its integrity and promise by efficiently and fairly adjudicating requests for immigration benefits while protecting Americans, securing the homeland, and honoring our values.”
Nancy Pelosi referred to the memo as “bigotry to the highest degree”. She went on to say, “President Trump is behind this, no doubt. He is indirectly trying to make people who are in this country illegally, feel uncomfortable and awkward about any violent crimes they have committed. When the more compassionate position is to hope that these particular undocumented people eventually learn our customs and culture, and in time, gradually reduce their violence while learning what is acceptable behavior in this great land. But I do not condone arresting any vicious murderers, simply because they are not U.S. citizens.”
