THE WIND (A poem by Blake Grantham)
As flowers bloom and spring arrives;
the winter’s chill begins to die
With kites up high the showers pour
The wind will blow forevermore
The summer breeze will fill the sails,
of boats that make a frothy trail
While waves are racing for the shore;
the wind will blow forevermore
The land is filled with autumn leaves;
from cooling nights and shedding trees
The gales remind you what’s in store
The wind will blow forevermore
As snowflakes dance to Christmas tunes;
a frozen pond reflects the moon
The ground is now an icy floor
And the wind will blow forevermore.
