BREAKING NEWS – McAllen, Texas – CNN’s Jim Acosta was mocked across social media for posting a video that was meant to downplay President Trump’s claims of a border crisis — but ended up supporting his argument that border barriers improve security. “Here are some of the steel slats that the president’s been talking about,” Acosta said while reporting from the southern border. “But as we’re walking along here, we’re not seeing any kind of imminent danger.” He later attempted to walk it back later by saying on CNN, “The reason why there were no immigrants near the border where I took the selfie, is because they know they can easily get over these steel slats, no problem, and will do it tomorrow… yeah that’s it, that’s the ticket. And uh… uh, they uh… didn’t want to show off by scaling it in my presence. Immigrants traditionally, uh… uh don’t like showing off… because uh, uh, uh, uh they are very humble people. But uh, er uh… they could’ve made it over, with or without my assistance… or something like that.”
