BREAKING NEWS – Espanola, New Mexico – An employee at a Sonic Drive-In restaurant in New Mexico was arrested after some cocaine somehow ended up on a customer’s hot dog, according to police.
Jeffrey David Salazar, 54, faces a felony charge for possession of a controlled substance, the Espanola Police Department said in a press release.
Police said illegal narcotics were discovered in a customer’s recent “Coney” purchase at Sonic. According to the friend that was with the customer, he got suspicious after his friend at a portion of the hot dog, was immediately hyper, and spoke nonstop for nearly 7 hours.
A lawyer for Salazar said it was an honest mistake. He said the customer told Salazar that he wanted a hotdog and a Coke, and that prompted the misunderstanding.
