Ask Blake Picture111

Dear Blake,

I have a 12 year old son that rarely speaks. He has the ability, but over the past few months, he has being saying less and less, and now he only talks when asked a question, and even then his responses are very brief. He doesn’t seem angry or bitter, so I’m not sure how I should react. Your thoughts?

Dear Darrell,

Some kids are simply loners that are anti-social, so your son’s ne behavior may mean nothing. Unfortunately, FBI profilers state that majority of serial killers have that exact same character trait. Does your son have an abnormal interest in guns, knives, and high powered binoculars? Does he look at strangers with an empty menacing stare? How do you sleep at night knowing that a butcher is down the hall from you making sinister plans? Have you concluded that he believes that family members are off limits in regards to his insatiable appetite for gore and mayhem? On the other hand, he just might be a kid that has very little to say. But to play it safe, it wouldn’t be a bad idea if you and your wife slept in shifts, just in case in the middle of the night, your son had an uncontrollable urge to become an orphan. I hope this helps.
