Dear Blake,

My husband and I have been married for decades.  We both provide interpretation for the hard of hearing at our church.  However, a lot of times I see people looking at him in horror. It appears that he is cursing at them.  I really want to believe that he is just making honest mistakes, but I’m starting to wonder about his sanity and if he will do something drastic.  Can you please help me?

Dear Lucy,

I think it’s great that you and your husband are involved in a ministry to assist the hearing impaired. Based on what you said, I have concluded that either your husband has some anger management issues, or he’s an idiot. How is he communicating with the hearing impaired during Sunday services, through sign language or yelling? He might even be using profanity, subconsciously transferring his pinned up hostility toward you to them, because he may feel you never obey his brainless half-baked orders that often borderlines on insane. His actions could be based on finances, and he’s upset with them because he may believe that collectively, they’re not putting enough cash in the offering plate. If that’s the case, tell him to refrain from using “bad words”, but instead show them the sign that means “money”, and immediately following that with a slashing gesture across his throat. And to insure that they got the message, tell them that in the near future, your church will have a guest pastor giving a sermon, who is a direct descendant of “Jack the Ripper”. But the most likely reason in my opinion, is because he feels that they don’t appear to be embracing the teachings of the bible. If that’s the case, there is a positive element of a deaf person that rejects Jesus, which is, they won’t be able to hear themselves scream from being perpetually roasted in the pit of hell. I hope this helps.
