Ask Blake Picture111

Dear Blake,

I am a very shy and antisocial person, but I have become pen pals with a man that I have fallen for, head over heels. And when I say pen pal, I’m saying that he’s in the state pen. It is the fourth time this has happened to me and I find myself exclusively attracted to men that are locked up. Does this mean that  I might have some mental health issues?

Dear Millie,

The age old question regarding why people fall in love with a certain type, is very difficult to answer. In your case, it’s probably because you’re very lonely, and more than likely you’re a complete idiot. Most women would want a romantic evening involving dim lights instead of flashing lights, and soft music instead of sirens. Or could it be because you have been involved with men in that past that have cheated on you, and you’re comfortable knowing that he does not have access to women. If that is your mindset, I have news for you. The social life of male inmates is pretty shocking, even though some men actually enjoy the dating options. On the other hand, I have heard of men that have written heartfelt love letters to their girlfriends, poetically requesting for them to patiently wait until they are eventually released, so they can live together happily ever after. What these prisoners usually mean if you read between the lines, is because of their connections on the outside, you better not even look at another man, if you value the lives of your close friends and immediate family. I hope this helps.

Blake
