Dear Blake,

I’ve wanted to be a pilot for a long time. But because of my medical history and my need to be on medicine, both of which are disqualifying, it’s not possible. I have been good at handwriting comparisons as a hobby, specifically in legal cases, although I am unpaid. Also, I may get a job as a mail clerk at a federal department.

How can I move past this major disappointment where I’m grounded (job-wise) for life? I have even given free psychic readings. Please help.

Signed, Darren

Dear Darren,

You come off as a person not particularly good at anything. Drastically lowering your career aspirations is probably the only way you’ll ever accomplish your goals. Here are some suggestions for you. Try getting a job delivering newspapers. In your case, you’ll probably need GPS so you don’t get lost in between homes on the same block. How about working at a drive-up window at a fast food restaurant? If you get hired, you should also take some self-defense classes, so you don’t get beat up from customers assaulting you for constantly screwing up their orders. Or, you might want to consider being a dishwasher. In your case, you should wear a life preserver just in case you fall into one of the large sinks. If you don’t have a life preserver, just stand up. And lastly, you might want to apply for a job as a janitor. Just remember in regards to push brooms, the end with the bristles is the part that should be on the floors moving the trash. I hope this helps.

Blake
