While accepting the Best Video award at the European Music Awards, she smoked a joint while addressing the audience. Miley’s manager Larry Rudolph defended her by saying that she actually toned it down from her original plan of injecting herself with heroin while performing. But she changed her mind when she found it too difficult to simultaneously hold a microphone, a syringe, and find a vein, while trying to stay in beat with the music.
