BREAKING NEWS – Merrifield, Virginia – Airline boarding passes display a lot more information than just your flight and seat number, according to a security researcher. At KrebsOnSecurity, Brian Krebs warns that the barcodes printed on boarding passes can give hackers the key to finding out information about a flyer’s personal details, itinerary, and frequent-flyer accounts. Airlines maintain that the information on the barcode is important for flight attendants to see, because it helps to determine which adult is likely to assault a parent that refuses to control their overactive and/or whiny children. And since no one on the crew is allowed to punch the mother or father in the face for having poor parenting skills, they want them seated next to a person who probably will.
