BREAKING NEWS – Bartlesville, Oklahoma – “This is not a day care. This is a university!” This was a response by president of Oklahoma Wesleyan University Everett Piper, in response to a student at the Christian school, that got upset after attending a chapel service. The student complained that he felt “victimized” by a sermon on the topic of 1 Corinthians 13. It appears that this young scholar felt offended because a homily on love made him feel bad for not showing love. In his mind, the speaker was wrong for making him, and his peers, feel uncomfortable. Now, he says he plans to start a petition that will prohibit sermons that are preached on campus that causes students to do any self analysis or feel convicted. But just to be safe and to insure that no one during a service “begins to squirm”, the student added “On this Christian campus, I feel any direct or indirect references to the bible should be strictly prohibited.”
