BREAKING NEWS – New York City, New York – Former Alaska Governor and vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin has filed a lawsuit against the New York Times over an editorial that tied her to the January 2011 shooting of Arizona Congresswoman Gabby Giffords. Palin’s attorneys claim the paper defamed her in the June 14 editorial, published hours after House Majority Whip Steve Scalise, R-La., was shot and wounded by a deranged man while Scalise was practicing with the GOP’s baseball team in Alexandria, Va. The NY Times responded by saying, “We have been defaming Ms. Palin for years and now we are very suspicious of the timing of the lawsuit, in regards to our latest misinformation about her. She always says she wants to promote jobs, but if this newspaper takes another financial hit from a lawsuit settlement, many people here will be unemployed, simply because Ms. Palin doesn’t have thick enough skin to deal with our ongoing slander.”
