BREAKING NEWS – Boston, Massachusetts – Democratic socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez spoke at her alma mater of Boston University, where she made a few mix-ups in her speech on what Congress really does. “It doesn’t mean you get everything tomorrow. As much as I would love that, I would love to get inaugurated January 3rd [and] January 4th we’re signing health care, we’re signing this,” Ocasio-Cortez said. The New York City congressional hopeful thought she would be “inaugurated” if she won the congressional race — a member of Congress is sworn in, not inaugurated. She also said she’d be signing bills into law — only the president signs or vetoes the bill, which if passed, then becomes a law. Ocasio-Cortez seemed even more confused when she said her future goals included becoming a senator so she could pardon criminals, and in 2024 to run for vice president.
