BREAKING NEWS – San Francisco, California – Police officers in San Francisco may no longer demand that suspects – whether handcuffed or not – sit on the ground or sidewalk at a crime scene, the city’s police chief writes in a department memo. The practice is viewed as “demeaning” to suspects, city police Chief William Scott has determined. “In order to carry out duties respectfully and professionally, sitting a subject on the ground or sidewalk should be done only as a last resort and only when necessary,” said Scott during a tv interview. “In the near future, suspects will be comfortable after getting arrested, because beginning in January, they will be sitting in a Lazy Boy recliner. Each police vehicle will be equipped to transport a recliner, a love seat, or a couch after the city approves the funds to install the tow bars. For longer than normal detentions, the cops will have the option of placing a 55 inch tv on the curb in front of suspects, but they will be limited to basic cable and no movie channels.”
