BREAKING NEWS – Charleston, South Carolina – Former Vice President Joe Biden apologized on Saturday over the pain he caused people with comments he made about his ability to work with segregationist senators. “I regret it and I’m sorry for any of the pain or misconception they may have caused anybody,” Biden, a Democratic presidential candidate, said during a campaign event in South Carolina. Biden said that he was “wrong” to “give the impression” that he was somehow praising segregationist senators. “I always try to look at things from both sides,” he explained. “The south lost the war, that they should’ve won. The north had some unfair advantages, and that inequity was comparable to cheating in my view, in which the north unfortunately never displayed any shame. This is why I have never visited the Lincoln Monument and I never will. But it’s over and done with and the north’s hollow victory is now history, so let’s just leave it at that. And once again, I regret it and I’m sorry for any of the pain or misconception they may have caused anybody if I gave anyone the impression that I was somehow praising segregationist senators.”
