BREAKING NEWS – Buffalo, New York – Pope Francis I accepted the resignation of Richard Malone, bishop of the Diocese of Buffalo, as the Catholic Church continues to deal with alleged incidents of sexual misconduct among its clergy. The rift was caused after a 2008 image of Malone surfaced with him holding up a copy of the book “Broken Trust” during his homily, at a mass of prayer and penance for harm done to survivors and faithful by past incidents of clergy sexual abuse. The last straw in the Pope’s eyes appears to be when the bishop later stated, “The broken trust should also be extended to the countless young boys, because they promised not to tell, and squealed anyway.”
