BREAKING NEWS – Bowie, Maryland – When public Masses were suspended in the Archdiocese of Washington, D.C., Father Scott Holmer, pastor at St. Edward the Confessor Parish in Bowie, Md., did not want to deprive his community of the sacrament. Just 10 minutes before he was set to hear confessions, he came up with the idea to allow Catholics to confess from the confines of their vehicle to maintain social distancing. Many Catholic priests nationwide are embracing the idea, and said they still would like to hear confessions from young boys in private because they have a better immune system in regards to the coronavirus. The priests also requested during the private confessions with the youngsters, that their parents remain at least 100 feet away from them, and law enforcement at least 5 miles.
