BREAKING NEWS – New York City, New York – Microsoft founder Bill Gates warned on Sunday that some restaurants and bars will have to remain closed as COVID-19 cases surge across the country.

“Bars and restaurants—in most of the country—will be closed as we go into this wave, and I think, sadly, that’s appropriate,” Gates told CNN’s State of the Union.

Gates’ comment prompted a response from some critics on the right, including former Acting Director of U.S. National Intelligence Richard Grenell, the Daily Caller and Georgia congresswoman-elect Marjorie Taylor Greene, who claim its easy for Gates to say when he’s worth over $118 billion.

Gates quickly responded to his critics in a tweet. “Yes, I’m worth $118 billion, and you know how I got this rich, by thinking ahead during difficult times. So this is what I suggest that business owners do. While their businesses are shut down, they should be buying Microsoft products to help them analyze their possible options, and to urge others to do the same. One of my goals is to catch and pass Jeff Bezos as the richest man in the world, because I am tired of his Amazon B.S. So if businesses that are shut down follow my advice, they, as well as I, will eventually come out on top.”
