BREAKING NEWS – Chicago, Illinois – More than two dozen Chicago police officers reportedly turned their backs when greeted by Mayor Lori Lightfoot at the hospital where an officer remains in critical condition. She declared a day of mourning and called for all flags to be flown at half-staff.
Lightfoot provided a statement, saying, “In a time of tragedy, emotions run high and that is to be expected.” Then the letter got hostile. “I was very tempted to fire all the cops that turned the backs on me. Instead, I’ll contact Black Lives Matter, give them all the cops names and addresses, and let them do what they choose with the promise that I’ll order the district attorney won’t prosecute.”
