BREAKING NEWS – Washington, D.C. – President Biden is nominating Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to the Supreme Court, making good on a campaign promise to pick the first Black woman for the nation’s highest court.
Brown Jackson, 51, is a judge for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia.
“I’m proud to announce that I am nominating Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to serve on the Supreme Court,” Biden wrote in a tweet confirming his pick. “Keep in mind this is just a nomination due to a coerced promise I made during my campaign in 2020. Hopefully she won’t get confirmed, because I feel that having a black woman as a Supreme Court Justice is disrespectful to the first fifteen U.S. presidents. I came to this perspective after recently seeking the advice from former Democratic Senator Robert Byrd… in a séance.”
