BREAKING NEWS – Salt Lake City, Utah – After her husband died last year, she wrote a children’s book on grief. Now she’s charged with murder in his death.
Kouri Richins, 33, was arrested and is accused in charging documents of poisoning her husband with a lethal dose of fentanyl at their home in Kamas, a small mountain town near Park City.
The murder charges come months after Richins self-published “Are you with me?” – an illustrated storybook about a young boy wondering about his father’s presence in his life after the father dies.
Richins stated that she originally wanted to collaborate with world famous author James Patterson, but he rejected her “fictitious” storyline. She changed the story to what is currently, after Dr. Seuss also rejected the same concept, and called her rhymes “deeply disturbing”, such as what she wrote after husband was poisoned:
“I was having a blast
as he was breathing his last
“And he realized he was a dud,
when he started vomiting blood”.
