The dense thick wool on a wooly mammoth was once thought to be more than adequate to keep it warm while it existed during the Ice Age. Scientists are now rethinking that point of view, because a perfectly preserved frozen wooly mammoth has been found in northern Michigan that was holding in its trunk, some Kleenex and a box of cough drops. Yeah, whatever.
