Unfortunately I was sued in small claims early this week, and I was ordered to pay medical costs of a Jack-in-the-Box employee for the second degree burns he sustained on his fingers last year. In Nevada during July, the interior of a car parked in the sun can exceed 150 degrees. I left a pocket full of change on my dashboard for about five hours, and I gave it to the clerk at the drive-up window to pay for my meal. The judge apparently didn’t accept my excuse, that the employee should have gotten suspicious when I handed him the change while wearing an oven mitt. (I no longer have faith in our judicial system).
