I was walking through a park when I saw a homeless person sitting on a bench. He motioned for me to come over to him and he pointed to his feet. He told me that while walking that morning, the bottom of one of his old raggedy shoes fell off and he had no idea where it was. I felt compassion and moved by his situation, and I said to him. “You oughta start doing some sole searching”. The vulgar offensive language he shouted at me as I walked away was totally unnecessary. Sometimes it doesn’t pay to give heartfelt advice.
