As I was driving from southern to northern Nevada, I noticed a deer crossing sign. About 30 miles down the road, I saw the vehicle in front of me hit a deer. Fortunately it was a glancing blow, and it got up and ran away appearing to be uninjured. Do I blame the driver? Absolutely not, because the signs are clearly posted where these animals are legally allowed to cross. However, if the deer was illiterate, then the only thing I can conclude is, the pathetic low standards of U.S. public schools has unfortunately finally seeped over into the educational programs in forests.
