Cryogenics is the study of matter at temperatures much colder than those that occur naturally on earth. In the cryogenic temperature range, air becomes a liquid or even solid, and living temperatures freeze instantly. The lowest possible temperature is called absolute zero, and it occurs at -459 degrees Fahrenheit.

For the past couple of decades, people have been paying companies hundreds of thousands of dollars to be frozen after they die, hoping that a cure for what caused their death will eventually be discovered.

With the unpredictable twists and turns the future may take, I wouldn’t be surprised if a person slowly began to regain consciousness after a few hundred years of being dead at cryogenic laboratory, surrounded by doctors wearing discontented expressions.
