I got cheated earlier in the week while riding the bus, when a guy broke a $20 bill for me, by giving two singles and six $3 bills. However, I feel proud of myself for calling the U.S. Treasury Department and have them confirm that the serial numbers on the $3 bills were bogus. Even though I got ripped off, I take some comfort in knowing I did my due diligence, instead of immediately making accusations toward a stranger that could later be proven false.
