When I was in high school, a star athlete with a well deserved reputation as a homerun hitter, ruined his career due to his poor sportsmanship. After getting tossed out of a game for arguing with an umpire, he came back later that night, and stole some of the equipment from the field. When the player was interrogated by the police, he confessed once he saw the evidence against him. When asked him what was the basis for the bases being stolen, the homerun hitter said he was “through” when the umpire threw him out of the game. The detective said after looking at all the facts, he faxed them to his boss. And according to the police chief, when everything gelled, the player was jailed.
