My son often calls me a wimp because he said I am scared to stand-up to my ex-wife. He felt I should express myself unfiltered, and tell her exactly what I think of her, in regards to how she has mistreated me over the years. To show him that I wasn’t some spineless coward, I wrote a very angry text to her. I didn’t pull any punches, and I gave her both barrels from my years of pinned up hostility. Before I sent the text, I let him read it to show him that I am a real man, and I will never back down from her again. When I pressed “send” he was so proud of me. But I think his admiration of me might have diminished, if he realized that I purposely sent my irate text message to her landline. Anyway, that’s a start.
