A friend of mine is the assistant pastor at my church, and he is also a former English teacher. Anyway, I asked him a simple grammatical question about a book in the Old Testament to see if he had any biases. I wanted to know if he was anti-adjective or pro-verbs. He thought my question was idiotic, and threatened to expel me from the church, unless he had a conference with my parents. I guess some habits are hard to break.
