Halloween. A time when kids playfully go from house to house trick-or-treating in costumes that range from goblins and witches to cartoon characters and movie stars, getting their little bags filled with all sorts of candy. It’s also a time, that when kids are saying “trick-or-treat”, they are subconsciously being indoctrinated into resorting to whining and threats unless they’re given something for nothing. Today’s trick-or-treaters are all too often tomorrow’s government subsidy recipients.

  1. What I don’t get is that we tell children from a very young age not to take candy from strangers, yet this one day a year, we actually encourage them go to a stranger’s door and beg for it. Razor blades, anyone?
