U.S. & World History – The Three Musketeers Athos, Porthos, and Aramis, were inseparable friends that lived by the motto “all for one, one for all”. They were dashing, chivalrous characters that resided in Paris, France during the 17th century, and were extraordinary swordsmen. Undoubtedly then and now, the most well known trio of swordsmen were the Three Musketeers, but other lesser known trios during their time included the Nestle’s Crunch Posse and the Butterfinger Gang.
