U.S. & World History – A little known fact is how a certain Asian ethnicity got their name. It began many centuries ago when the women from that culture refused to wear dresses publicly. Instead, they exclusively wore pants outside their homes, because they were extremely timid about showing their legs. Word eventually spread all over the continent regarding their tradition. The spelling was later changed over the years, but initially, people not living in that country referred to both men and women as “Shy Knees”.
