Ask Blake Picture111

Dear Blake,

I’m 14 years old and I’m seriously considering running away from home because my parents hate my boyfriend, who is also 14. I am a straight “A” student and I am going to help him get his GED in the fall because he dropped out off school. Also because of a recent heart to heart talk with him, he burglarizes less than half of the amount of homes he used to. Plus now he only sells drugs to people that are at least 18. I think my parents are unreasonable and are snobs. What do you think?

Dear Elaine,

Congrats on your current academic standards. Too bad those book smarts don’t translate into common sense. Considering the road your boyfriend is on, it’s just a matter of time before you’ll be on that same road with him… in the back of a paddy wagon. You may find that “bad boy” mentality appealing now, but after waiting for years for him to be released on parole, it becomes dramatically less sexy. And if and when he’s finally released, there is no guarantee that he’ll still be attracted to you, or to any “woman”. In conclusion there is some good news and bad news regarding your boyfriend. The bad news is, he’ll probably always be a loser. The good news is, he’ll never be as big loser as you for choosing to get involved with such a moron you misguided ignoramus. I hope this helps.
