BREAKING NEWS – Gun rights supporters in Texas counted down the hours, minutes and seconds to New Year’s Day, because when the clock struck midnight, licensed firearms owners in the Lone Star State were allowed openly carry their handguns in public. Texas had nearly 826,000 concealed license holders in 2014, which ranks among the nation’s highest. The ACLU weighed in on the new law, referring to it as “a shameful attempt to intimidate hard working dedicated street criminals.”
