BREAKING NEWS – Washington, D.C. – During an NPR interview, President Obama’s advice to Donald Trump is not to use executive orders so much, and to pursue policy changes through Congress and not via executive order. Frustrated by Republican opposition in Congress, Obama in 2014 had openly shifted tactics to rely on executive and administrative actions to pursue his agenda. “I’ve got a pen and I’ve got a phone,” he declared at the time. He then explained his “new” stance on executive orders. “If he does exactly what I did, it would prove that he is not fit to be president, because it would show that he is knowingly and recklessly following the bad examples that I consistently set forth.”
