BREAKING NEWS – Bentonville, Arkansas – Walmart is raising its starting hourly wage from $9 to $11 and expanding its parental leave benefits. The country’s largest employer, which has more than 1 million hourly workers, said the changes were motivated in part by anticipated savings from the President Trump’s newly passed tax plan, which offers sweeping tax cuts for corporations. Walmart also plans to give one-time cash bonuses to some part-time and full-time workers, ranging from $250 to $1,000. Congresswoman Maxine Waters was outraged and immediately let her opinion be known. “I hope Walmart employees doesn’t fall for President Trump’s deception. He only passed the tax law so employees like them will have more money in their pockets, and then vote for him in 2020,” she began. “It’s all a big con! I am urging the employees at Walmart that receive these bribes, to send the money to me for my 2018 election campaign. And I promise if reelected, I will do everything in my power to insure that they never receive another penny from Trump’s tax break bonus scam!”
