Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez made some bold claims in her latest Instagram Live video, suggesting millennials and Generation Z are better “informed” and more well-versed in history than past generations. “I think this new generation is very profound, and very strong, and very brave, because they’re actually willing to go to the streets,” she explained. The New York Democratic congresswoman, who at 29 is a millennial herself, took it a few steps further. “Previous generations never protested anything, and we are the only generation that have taken to the streets to make a change, and we are the only generation that has ever challenged the government. And anyone that disagrees, either doesn’t like me personally, or has taken the time to actually research U.S. history in order to make me look stupid… again.”
