BREAKING NEWS – Milwaukee, Wisconsin – Actress Kerry Washington, while emceeing the virtual Democratic National Convention, said “the Black community in this country is hugely diverse” — just weeks after Democratic nominee Joe Biden said the exact opposite.

Biden raised eyebrows over remarks he made during an interview that aired at the convention of the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) and National Association of Hispanic Journalists (NAHJ). He contrasted the Black and Latino communities, saying “unlike the African American community, with notable exceptions, the Latino community is an incredibly diverse community with incredibly different attitudes about different things.” He later tweeted about Washington’s assessment of diversity in the black community. “Well, she’s wrong. I lived in Delaware most of my life. And the few blacks that I didn’t run out of town or attempted to get them incarcerated, didn’t seem very diverse. In fact they all ran just as fast, when me and some of my buddies chased them out of any predominately white neighborhoods, which was my motivation for writing the 1993 crime bill.”
