BREAKING NEWS – Fresno, California – Another long-time California establishment closed following years of rising crime. Shanghai Chinese Cuisine officially closed its doors on Tuesday after operating in Fresno for 44 years.
“I never wanted to close the restaurant. I wanted to keep Shanghai, but under all the circumstances, financially I cannot afford any longer to stay at this location,” owner Pauline Dunn said.
“Shanghai Chinese Cuisine’s closing is their own fault,” stated civil rights activist Al Sharpton. “There are plenty of blacks that live in that community, and that restaurant should have been sensitive to that. So maybe if they sold less rice, and more pork and chicken, they could’ve gained respect from African-Americans, thus getting robbed less.”
