lawyer

I struck up a conversation with a lawyer while I was at the courthouse downtown, waiting on a friend. He told me he was a devout atheist and proud of it. So I asked him what would he do if on Judgment Day he found out that God exists? He thought about it for a second, and said he’d prepare a legal brief on why he should still be permitted to enter into heaven. And when I asked him what would he do if God rejected his argument, he said he’d file an appeal and he felt confident that would easily delay God’s judgment for years. After he said that, I was thinking to myself, “Considering his eternal destination, I hope he has some fireproof legal pads”.
